Ron Hoffner, CFA
Associate Ingenix Consulting
Ron Hoffner joined Ingenix Consulting in August, 2008 as an associate in the analytics, innovation and research group. His focus is the application of behavior economics, specifically prediction markets, in the health care space.
Prior to joining Ingenix, Hoffner was a senior financial analyst at Best Buy Co., Inc. and a member of the team that introduced the company to prediction markets. Applying behavioral economic concepts to understand consumer behavior, Hoffner created highly accurate forecasting models for Best Buy’s $5 billion TV business unit. He also had direct responsibility for managing the company’s $4.5 billion investment portfolio.
Hoffner was a business analyst with Deloitte Consulting’s strategy practice area, focusing on consumer business and retail clients. In this role, he introduced the real option valuation technique to key clients along with working on Deloitte’s strategic flexibility framework.
Hoffner holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is pursuing his master’s of business administration at the University of Minnesota.
