Joseph N. Romano, ASA, MAAA, has worked in the health care industry for over 32 years in various actuarial, underwriting and data focused endeavors. Prior to joining our practice he was employed as the Senior Vice President & Chief Actuary at Capital BlueCross in Pennsylvania. There he was responsible for the actuarial, underwriting, and reporting areas as well as the Enterprise Information Management data warehouse development and related data quality processes. Previously, he was employed for almost 8 years as the Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary at Health Net, Inc., in California. His other work experience included time at Keystone Health Plan East, Milliman & Robertson, Prudential, KPMG, and almost 10 years with the Health Care Financing Administration (now Center for Medicare Services).

Mr. Romano has a B.S. mathematics degree from St. Joseph’s University. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He has given presentations at actuarial and industry meetings on various health care issues.
