Stephen Wood is a Senior Vice President with the Ingenix Consulting’s health care practice with management responsibility for the Chicago, New York and Hartford Offices. Stephen has extensive experience in managed care, governmental programs, senior markets and strategic consulting in the health insurance industry. He currently leads the senior market and individual market practices at Ingenix Consulting.

Stephen’s work in senior markets dates to the mid 1980s when he worked with hospitals to implement DRG payments by Medicare. Since that time, he has worked with many major insuring organizations serving the senior market to review and develop strategies, conduct new product feasibility assessments, improve performance and implement new programs.

From 1995 to 2003, he was a Principal with Tillinghast – Towers Perrin where he led the firm’s senior services practice. Before joining Tillinghast – Towers Perrin in 1995 he was the Managing Director of Strategic Consulting Services at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. In addition to his consulting experience, Stephen has held positions in capital finance at the American Hospital Association as well as Finance Director and Director of Patient Accounts at a large medical group practice.
