Douglas Kundel
Director, Consulting Services
Doug Kundel brings to HSS over twenty five years of operations management experience culled from extensive work with hospitals and other healthcare providers identifying workflow and systems issues. His primary expertise is in revenue cycle management process redesign and performance improvement.
Prior to Ingenix, Doug served as Senior Director for CHPS Consulting, where he developed Performance Link, a consulting program for providers that enhanced revenue and improved cost control, accounts receivable, and cash flow management. He also served as a Senior Management Consultant with McFaul & Lyons, a leader in healthcare supply chain management, where he assisted clients in achieving 20-30% controllable expense reductions through the redesign of numerous clinical, financial and support departments. In addition, Doug held executive level positions with MedE America (now WebMD) as well as the Healthcare Association of New York State, where he developed, marketed and executed one of the first healthcare data benchmarking initiatives in the country.
Doug has been a featured speaker at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Annual National Institute and has conducted numerous presentations, seminars and educational sessions across the nation focusing on the outpatient Prospective Payment System and Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APCs). He holds a BS in Business Administration from Sienna College.
