CareTracker Solves the EHR and Practice Management System Integration Problem for Physicians
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – September 16, 2008 – Ingenix, a leading health information, technology and consulting company, announced today that the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT®) has designated Ingenix CareTracker version 6.2 as CCHIT Certified® for 2007. As physician practices face increasingly complex data management challenges, CareTracker now offers independently tested electronic health record (EHR) capabilities that, combined with its powerful Web-based practice management system (PMS), can help increase practice efficiency, promote standardization of patient care and reduce administrative costs.
CareTracker passed inspection of 100 percent of CCHIT’s set of functionality, interoperability and security criteria, and meets the Commission’s ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) criteria for 2007. CCHIT is an independent, nonprofit organization named by the U.S. government as the Recognized Certification Body for health information technology. CCHIT conducted rigorous and comprehensive testing of CareTracker based on real-life medical scenarios, designed to measure against the clinical needs of providers and the quality and safety needs of health care consumers and payers.
“Physicians worry that EHR applications shift administrative tasks from lower- to higher-paid staff without adding value for patients,” said Russ Keene, vice president, Ingenix. “CareTracker truly frees resources to improve the patient experience. It links physicians to a hosted solution with robust connectivity and built-in decision support, eliminates menial tasks and reduces the fragmentation and complexity of the information required to support practices of all sizes.”
“Our five-location practice has used CareTracker since 2001 for our clinical and business data management,” said Dr. Pablo Rodriguez of Women’s Care in Rhode Island. “The flexibility and simplicity offered by CareTracker’s Web browser interface and real-time connectivity is essential to managing our practice and patient charts across multiple offices. The system also enables us to be more efficient in our claims and billing. Plus, the automated updates ensure that we always have the latest codes and tools, with no interruption in functionality. With CareTracker, we are ready to go to the next level with EHRs.”
