ANN ARBOR, MI, August 8, 2008—Pharmaceutical services company i3 announced today that global pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) is transferring the majority of its U.S. data management work to i3 Statprobe, a leader in clinical data services, as part of Lilly’s ongoing effort to transform its business. This significantly expands the business relationship between the two organizations.
This agreement builds on i3’s steady growth in functional services outsourcing. Clients like Lilly have found that outsourcing functional services such as data management and clinical research enhances efficiencies and reduces cost. These benefits are critical to customers who are competing in a changing business environment for pharmaceutical companies.
“i3 is pleased to be selected by a company of Lilly’s stature, and believes it reflects our fundamental commitment to the high level of customer service that the i3 Statprobe team has provided to Lilly over the years and our strategy of operational, clinical and scientific specialization,” said Glenn Bilawsky, i3 CEO. “We are honored to bring this approach more broadly to a customer with the profile of Eli Lilly and Company.”
i3 expects to hire staff from Lilly and to add additional new positions in the Indianapolis area. i3 is scheduled to open a new 21,000 square–foot office in Indianapolis on August 18th at 4745 Haven Point Boulevard.
